During a campaign speech on Monday night, Vice President Kamala Harris praised her "opportunity agenda" without providing any details on how it will affect digital assets.

She made the first move towards an important policy statement on cryptocurrency when the campaign revealed its broad platform earlier in the day. However, her speech in Erie, Pennsylvania, left everyone hoping for additional information and feeling let down.

Kamala Harris Speech

Unlike her previous appearances, Harris didn't even refer to "blockchain" or "digital assets" in brief, let alone cryptocurrency.

She stated early in her statements on Monday night that "we will build a future where we have what I call a potential economy, where everyone is equal and have an actual chance not just to get by, but to get ahead."

Earlier in the day, the Harris team claimed that the "opportunity agenda" was designed to increase Black men's support for her. According to a press release, Vice President Harris is aware that over 20% of Black Americans currently own or have owned digital currencies. As a result, she plans to ensure that investors and owners of digital assets benefit from a legal structure that protects Black men and other participants in this market.

The memo stated, "Vice President Harris respects the ways in which new technologies may expand the reach of banking and financial services," before restating the framework's news release statement.

Donald Trump's Efforts in the Crypto Market

Former President Donald Trump has made several efforts to the cryptocurrency business, offering supportive regulators and appointing a "bitcoin and crypto advisory council" at Bitcoin industry gathering, in contrast to Harris' near-silence on the subject.

When he visited New York City's PubKey, a Bitcoin bar, last month, Trump purchased hamburgers using Bitcoin with the help of the club's employees.

Industry participants have undertaken numerous surveys measuring voters' interest in the cryptocurrency space. According to a Harris Poll, 21% of respondents said they own at least some cryptocurrency, and 77% of new voters said they want candidates to be knowledgeable about it.

Crypto is Increasingly Dominant

Since emerging as the Democratic nominee, Vice President Harris has not spoken anything about cryptocurrency, which alarmed industry participants. But at a New York City event, she promised to maintain investors and consumers while promoting modern innovations like AI and digital assets.

Her initial public recognition of the industry suggested a possible change in her strategy for financial innovation.

According to analysts, a Harris administration could be better for Bitcoin than US President Donald Trump's second term. They believe that her leadership will speed up the fundamental problems that push the adoption of Bitcoin, particularly as more clear laws might enable it to overtake other digital assets.
