Cryptocurrency giants are coming together at the first-ever Crypto Ball, encouraged by President-elect Trump's pro-crypto agenda and aspirations to establish the United States as a blockchain leader.
The Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in Washington, D.C., will host the first Crypto Ball on January 17. This Gala is organized to honour American creativity and coincides with the launch of President-elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-elect J.D. Vance.
As of this writing, all of the gold tickets, initially priced at $2,500 each, have been sold out due to the high demand for the event. The only tickets left are the $5,000 Black ones.
The Black-tie Event
The black-tie event, organized by BTC Inc. and co-hosted by Stand with Crypto, Exodus, Anchorage Digital, and Kraken, will take place from 8:00 p.m. to midnight. In honour of the 60th Presidential Opening and the leadership of the new management, guests will partake in cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
The event is sponsored by heavyweights in the industry, including Coinbase, Sui, Galaxy, Mysten Labs, Metamask, Ondo, Metaplanet, Solana, Satoshi Action Fund, DSA, MicroStrategy, Nano, Etoro, Uniswap Labs, Nexo, Robinhood Crypto, and MARA.
Crypto Hiring by Trump
The occasion aligns with President-elect Trump's pro-crypto views, which have inspired hope in the blockchain sector. By selecting crypto-friendly individuals, Trump confirmed his support for cryptocurrencies. It is believed that these appointments will promote regulations that are conducive to innovation.
Crypto appointments:
- Paul S. Atkins as Chair of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)
- Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary
- David Sacks as AI and Crypto Czar
Crypto Industry Growth
The industry expects a change to more positive involvement with the departure of SEC Chair Gary Gensler, who was usually opposed to strict regulation actions. Trump has also proposed ideas like a Bitcoin national reserve and wants to make the U.S. the digital capital of the world.
These actions will further solidify his administration's focus on promoting blockchain growth. The strategies could create a stable regulatory environment that encourages invention and institutional acceptance.
According to Eleanor Terrett of Fox Business, Trump's super PAC, MAGA Inc., will also throw a VIP event with David Sacks during the first Crypto Ball. It is not expected that former President Donald Trump would be present. A $1 million deal covers four tickets and one ticket to a future dinner with Trump. Individual tickets for the reception cost $100,000.
